We received over 300 amazing entries for our first Sip Vintage Photo Competition, all capturing the 2018 whirlwind grape harvest in their very unique way.
With so many great entries to choose from, it’s no surprise that we’ve struggled to pick THE winning photo tagged with #sipnzv18 on Instagram and Facebook.
That’s why we’re taking you first on a little tour, showcasing the top vintage shots in four categories, before announcing the overall winner.

And the overall winning photo is … drumroll…
SHOT OF GAV BY GREYSTONE WINES
“Our Client Winemaker, Gav Tait, has been with us for 14 years! Like Dom, Gav started in the vineyard and through the years found his way to the winery. When Gav’s not in the cellar, you’ll find him at home with his wife, Jess, and five kids, or at the #Waimakariri fishing, or training for his first degree black belt in Aikido.”
We chose this snap of Gav by Alissa Miller as the winning photo as it’s not only a stunning shot but reflects the passion and hard work required to make great wines, year in and year out.
Thanks Greystone Wines for tagging this shot with #sipnzv18 and congrats to the vintage team!
Thanks everyone for entering our Sip Vintage Photo Competition and special thank you goes to our friends at Glengarry Wines who are kindly sponsoring the prize for the winning photo, a set each of beautiful Eisch Vinezza White Wine and Pinot Noir Glasses valued at $100 total.
With the first 2018 wines already hitting the shelf, it’s now time to sip the results of the hard work these New Zealand wine peeps put in over the last months.
Let’s raise a glass to them – cheers!
