The Magpie is synonymous with the Hawke’s Bay region and from this region also hails this boutique label, Squawking Magpie.

Their wines come from four vineyards in the Gimblett Gravels sub-region. Gavin Yortt first planted grapes in Gimblett Road, namely the Irongate Vineyard, in 1981.

Some days you hear a song come on and it instantly puts you in the mood. Well this Syrah will make you feel like dialling up a bit of reggae, relaxing and enjoying the gentle rhythms, feel yourself start to sway to the music, and with glass in hand enjoy what a well made and lush Syrah from the Hawke’s Bay.

Really easy drinking, the fruit lulls you, the pepper and hints of spice and licorice make you move your hips and the smooth finish lets you dance into the moonlight.
