Dry River is one of those wineries from the mist, it has quite a bit of a fabled reputation, whispered of and highly regarded. One to seek out, this is a unique wine from a unique winery and region.

2010 Dry River ‘Lovat’ Gewürztraminer from Martinborough
This wine is a burlesque dancer, full of heady perfume and voluptuous in all the right ways. While not for everyone, there is a fine art found in its round curves, luscious fruit and rich finish.
Sultry and honeyed it gives you a bit of tropical fruit, minerality that is a fully balanced experience from start to finish.
The Julicher story begins on the stoney riverbed soils of the Te Muna Valley, a premium grape growing location nestled just outside Martinborough. Wim Julicher came to New Zealand in 1972 from Holland with $50.00 in his pocket, the promise of a job, and a dream of one day owning land in New Zealand. He spent 30 years in the building trade then decided it was time for a change.
Schubert Wines is the dynamic vision of Kai Schubert and Marion Deimling both graduates of the esteemed Viticulture and Oenology University in Geisenheim, Germany. Both Kai and Marion were born and raised in Germany. Kai had the experience of working for the acclaimed winemaker Erni Loosen of Dr. Loosen Estate. Whilst Marion had grown up amongst vines at Lake of Constance and had worked at wineries in the Baden region.
