Each year, many brands and wines are launched and while most of them are made for pure pleasure, some have been crafted to make a difference.
Kōparepare wines are a great example of that. Expertly made by the Whitehaven family in beautiful Marlborough, the range has been crafted for enjoyment while every bottle sold makes a difference.
Kōparepare is Maori for gift or contribution and the wines demonstrate the family’s sustainability ethos, with a focus on the protection, preservation and restoration of New Zealand’s natural resources.
Samantha White, Kōparepare’s brand ambassador, is the daughter of Whitehaven founders Sue and the late Greg White: “My family has a strong connection to the sea. I spent my first six months on a yacht, and Whitehaven is the dream my parents shared while sheltering in the waters of New Zealand’s Marlborough Sounds. The protection and restoration of our oceans is not only a global concern, but it is an issue that is deeply personal to me and something I feel passionate about. We are all responsible for change, and Kōparepare is a way for Whitehaven to invite wine consumers to be a part of the community that will action that change. This is our way to work together to protect, preserve and restore our oceans for the enjoyment of our families, our communities and future generations.”
The family relaunches their Kōparepare wines with a week-long campaign from today, Monday, 19 October 2020. 100% of revenue from the first 125 cases sold via koparepare.co.nz will be entirely donated to LegaSea, a non-profit organisation committed to the protection of New Zealand’s marine environment. After that the family winery will continue to fund the work of LegaSea by donating $1 from every bottle of Kōparepare sold.
The unique range includes all wines a Marlborough wine lover could ask for: Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir Rosé, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and lower alcohol Sauvignon Blanc.
