Pop the cork today – not only to kick-off the beginning of the long weekend in style but to celebrate New Zealand’s second Bubbles Day.
Kiwi sparkling wines offer fantastic value without compromising on quality. New Zealand made bubbles are often half the price of their French siblings while still being made using the same traditional techniques and blends.
Classically Champagne is made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes, so it is no surprise that the majority of Kiwi sparkling wines come from Marlborough with less traditional interpretations and blends emerging from regions such as Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne.
Sparkling wines are a fun and easy way to celebrate and New Zealand has so many well made Méthode Traditionelle wines to choose from, you can’t go wrong. A bit lower in alcohol as well, it is a perfect way to have a glass, be mindful and delve into the different expressions of these grape varieties and regions.
